Act 2: a "Cat and Mouse" Play

Why does Polonius spy on his own son, Laertes? Why and how does Claudius spy on Hamlet? And in turn, Hamlet also spies on Claudius. How does such a prevailing atmosphere of mutual suspicion and espionage affect Hamlet's worldview in particular and the play in general?

Polonius spies on his own kid to assure that he will not get into any trouble. Reynaldo the servant of Polonius goes to Paris to assure that his son is doing what he should be and not getting into trouble. Claudius spies on Hamlet because he notices that his personality has completely changed and is curios to know whats causing Hamlet to act so suspicious. The king calls Guildenstern and Rosencrantz and I believe that after Hamlet realizes the alterior motive for visiting it changes him even more. Hamlet can no longer trust anyone and believes he has his life in control but on the inside he is a mess. Hamlet does not know whether to trust the ghost and finding out that Claudius is spying on him shows that he is not able to trust the people he once thought he could trust which destroys him. Hamlets "Worldview" is blank because he has no idea what to do and is falling apart because he doesn't know whats right and wrong anymore because his feelings have clouded his judgement due to the spies and the ghost.

If we analyze the character Hamlet, we will find him as a very indecisive person who's problems have made him go mad. His father's death impacted Hamlet, and Hamlet's actions have affected the people that surrounds him daily. Anger grew within Hamlet because of what his mother did to his father and feels that no one is truth worthy ever since his close friends started to betray him for the highest position in social rank.

I have to honestly agree with your comment Yoyó, for one Hamlet us very very indecisive, plus his actions throughout his life impact his closets friends and family. He did at one point dive himself mad due to his crazy situation.

As I carefully observe and analyze Mr. Hamlet reaction after his father death and Claudius curiosity to find out what has caused Hamlet gain lots of madness within himself. Hamlet World View is absolutely confusion for example, Hamlet not trusting his family anymore and making him feel that he's in control by others, all the changes in his life that is happening right know has gotten Hamlet still unclear which is leading to causing immensely frustration and desperation.

Polonius spies on his own son Laertes to find out if he is doing any illegal activities. Claudius spies on his stepson Hamlet because of his change of behavior. Claudius was able to spy on Hamlet by asking his "friends" Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to give him a visit as well as Ophelia who cooperated with Polonius. Hamlet's realization of the betrayals of people who he is close with views the world with confusion who to trust. The world full of lies.

Polonius is making sure his son doesn't do anything bad and be a good person. Claudius spies on Hamlet by using his own daughter because he was wondering if Hamlet wants to marry Ophellia so Claudius can have power and later on Hamlets friends turning it against him.

First of all Claudius spies on Hamlet because of his new strange behavior so Cladius asks Hamlet's two closes friend Guildenstern and Rosencrantz to visit him and spy on Hamlet. Also Polonius ask Ophelia to spy on Hamlet. Polonius also made Hamlet's mother Gertrude to spy on Hamlet by allowing Polonius hide in Gertrude's curtain. This made Hamlet to have trust issues to know that even his own family is betraying him. Polonius spies on Laertes to see if he was doing bad things.

In the text, it explains that polonium must keep watch on his own son to make sure he makes the right decision ms. Claudius begins to spy on Hamlet because he grown intensely suspicious about Hamlets behavior. I believe the trust issues affects Hamlets view on the world. It messed with his head and he isn't able to control his thoughts. He is lost in his own mind.
