Awash in calm still
Standing against shame and sin
Dancing in moonlight
I never bought into the Cult of Park, Jeong-Hee (he always evoked the creeps and disgust rather than awe and fear in me) and, by extension, never considered Park, Geun-Hye (Park, Jeong-Hee mini-me) as a social figure--let alone a political figure. Finally in 2016, most Koreans are waking up from their glamour (magic spell) of power. It is about time we should bury the vampire and celebrate the revolutionary. I am more than happy to pay for the nails for the dictator's coffin.
Following are two selected stanzas from Sylvia Plath's "Daddy":
Not God but a swastika
So black no sky could squeak through.
Every woman adores a Fascist,
The boot in the face, the brute
Brute heart of a brute like you.
. . . . . .
There’s a stake in your fat black heart
And the villagers never liked you.
They are dancing and stamping on you.
They always knew it was you.
Daddy, daddy, you bastard, I’m through.
