One of the themes in 1984 is language and communication and the theme itself is a paradox is a paradox because there is language but it’s only limited. It’s not proper language where you get to freely express your thoughts and emoti9ons.

1984 makes various parallels that relate to the ministries and the censorship as seen within the society. J

The close placement of opposite ideas or words is called ANTITHESIS, which is very similar to OXYMORON.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. How could there be so many people and yet no one? How could the nonexistent, quiet voices of my head be so loud? It will never cease to be funny over how sad it is. Their curses of praise. Their shouting of whispers. Their laughs of frustration. This is the most serious joke of my life. The gift that won't stop cursing.

In the corner in a room full of people, so much noise so much activity but only hearing deafening silence roaring in your ears. Feeling like all eyes are on you when there is only you and your spot light, your dark light. The loneliness is bittersweet, it feels good for only moment until you are in a room full of people and seem to be the extra piece in the puzzle.

In a classroom full of students focused on their work I was working on my assignment clearly confused. I felt different from the class every person understood what to do yet I was lost.

Sadly I was happy that my ice cream cone fell on the floor because I was trying to eat healthy. At that moment I felt out of place because the rest of my friend group judged me by my diet. I quietly screamed, “leave me alone dude” hoping that they would accept my fatness.

Feeling out of place is a common of many people. They are clearly confused about what is surrounding themselves. There is nothing visible in which they see that they like.

In 1984 language and communication is used as a paradox as each new edition is published for the public to see. Which means that language becomes more limited every time a new editon is published for the sake of the public having the inability to express themselves more freely to one another.

The use of paradox seemingly contradicts the statement, for example, I am nobody, wise fool, and your friends enemy is your enemy. These contradict themselves to emphasize the statement. Many authors use this so that they can acquire a better tone of the book.

The feeling of being out of place is some what bitter sweet. You get this sensation of being in and out of life with a nagging feeling that you don’t belong always following you. No matter what you do the deafening silence is always there. In the comfort of your home however it seems like one might belong but why not out and about?

The silence and solitude I loathed yet depended on was interrupted by the sudden burst of laughter in the library. The small crowd shouted and screamed in a place that is supposed to be silent. They give me stares of slight disgust, and I notice I’m occupying a seat they’ve attempted to save for another. I feel understand the cue to leave because I know when I am not wanted.

Ive become so accustomed to feeling alone or feeling out of place. Almost like its second hand nature. The laying in bed in the loud silence ate me up from the inside out. Loneliness covering me up with blankets of silence and pillows trying to accompany the emptiness. The cotton puffs tried to comfort me but never achieved it. In the end I still feel lonely.

When people clearly don’t understand once suffering, life becomes only assumptions and anticipated pleasures. Ones out of place is a perfectly understanding of one in need. In 1984, Winston is seems to be stuck in his own paradoxical life style in which he Is force to live with.

As i walked into class a burst of emptiness crashed across my body. Noticing that no one i knew was in there, the first day in class and full of students but with no familiar face. My past classes were full of people i knew but when i asked myself if i knew someone, i knew I wouldn’t. As the hours of class go by i feel out of place in my new school with mysterious people.

I am sitting down, waiting for my friend, Mia, to come join me. She walks in, but another person accompanies her. I shake this new person’s hand and learn that her name is Jane. Throughout the concert, my best friend is a stranger, as Jane and Mia were chatting, laughing, and smiling- all without me. In that moment I’m hurting, fuming, and on the verge of crying. I was within a cluster of people, yet I felt like an outlier. I know no one would notice if I departed. So, I rise from my chair with a heavy weight on my shoulders and leave the auditorium feeling I hadn’t moved a muscle.

obviously, war and peace are opposites, as are freedom and slavery. Ignorance and strength, though not exact opposites, can be contradictory ideas because ignorance is often tied to mental weakness. On one hand, these statements can be true in the world of 1984.
