See How Iambic Pentameter Goes! (Try to read it as an iambic pentameter)

What do you call ten alternately unstressed and stressed syllables?

What do you call when the answer of the earlier question comes with "blank" rhyme (meaning without any rhyme)?

Ha, too easy? Am I boring you? Or are you "board"? How's that for a pun?

Now, try to explain why and how Macbeth and Lady Macbeth share one iambic pentameter and illustrate its dramatic effect. This frantic dialogue takes place right after the usurper Macbeth killed the unsuspecting king Duncan.

Yes, also blank verses are often used in dramatic monologues. Some in which a character delivers his thoughts in a form of speech.

True, true.
Yet, the dramatic monologue can easily accommodate rhymed couplets, a reason why we have to be careful not to make a catchall statement.

Many English language authors such as William Shakespeare, are best known for inputing iambic pentameters in there playwrights and sonnets. They show how the rhythm adds stressed and unstressed syllables.

Yes, that is why we can use poems for lyrics and why rappers are poets. Or rather, rappers can be poets.

An iambic pentameter is when you have ten alternately unstressed and stressed syllables. An a black verse is when the verse does not rhyme. Using the iambic pentameter gives the scene more drama by using stressed and unstressed syllables. This changes the tone and aspect of how the scene is going to go.

Yes, blank verse is like a sea of rhythmic waves.

Iambic pentameter is composed of ten unstressed and stressed syllables, when it is referred as blank verse it means it is a poetry without rhythm. 95% of the time the poem will be a blank verse.

Good. Just want to remind you that un-rhymed and un-rhythmic are different.

Raquel I like how you explained Iambic Pentameter it was straight to the point. When a poem is blank verse it is poetry and also means that the character is in the right state of mind. When it is prose which Shakespeare uses in Hamlet that means that the character is not in the right state of mind.

The above text from Macbeth illustrates pretty well how the iambic pentameter works in the writings of Shakespeare. The scene creates an intense atmosphere by letting Macbeth and lady Macbeth complete their thoughts. The continue of their talking build a change of tone that focus well into the dramatic motion of this part.

I like how you explain how the scene is portrayed through MacBeth but as well it can be compared to that of Hamlet as well.

Well, I don't believe it's necessary to answer the questions since other comments already got that covered cx as for the analysis, I believe that the reason why it is written that way is because it is a series of words that are meant to be said fast and flow smoothly.

Iambic Pentameter is the use of 10 stressed and unstressed syllables that rhyme and mainly used in Shakespeare works one of those being Hamlet. Throughout Hamlet poetry, also known as blank verse is mainly used but Shakespeare does use prose as well which shows a persons mental state in the work.

It is true Shakespeare uses many literary devices and Iambic Pentameter is one of those many as well as enjambment, metaphors, similes and etc. He actually uses many of these through the soliloquoys that occur throughout the play.

So an iambic pentameter is a kind of rhythmic pattern that consists of five iambs per line, almost like five heartbeats.
